Founder of Haftke Technology Solicitors, Mark Haftke is a solicitor with wide ranging experience of IP and technology law
and commercial transactions across Europe and the USA. Over the years he has advised and represented significant customers
and suppliers in the technology sectors. The list of those he has represented involves FTSE 100 companies, AIM and NASDAQ
listed companies, hi-growth start-ups, universities and public authorities as well as leading individuals. He has advised
on disputes, IPO's, business sales, IP protection and licensing, competition law, regulatory matters and commercial technology
transactions. Originally qualified as a barrister in 1986, Mark was a litigation partner in a sector-leading London
firm where, over seven years, he had conduct of significant, High Court IP and contract disputes including several reported
cases. He subsequently joined a leading London IP firm, where for five years he specialised in technology transactions
and co-founded and built a market-leading Internet, New Media and eCommerce practice. Mark's commercial transactional
experience for national and international companies was deepened during his partnership in a global law firm associated with
one of the Big Four accountancy practices where he led their international IP and Technology Practice Group. Subsequently,
Mark furthered his experience of acting for US companies, advising them on their commercial technology transactions across
Europe, as a partner for four years in one of the US's ten biggest law firms where he was head of their European IP/IT group
until founding Haftke Technology Solicitors. Mark is recognised as a leading global lawyer in his chosen fields. He
has written many articles, contributed to and edited several reference works in the fields of IP and technology and speaks
widely both at home and abroad on a variety of legal subjects.
Mark obtained his law degree from Oxford University in 1985, studying at St Edmund Hall. He is married and has
two daughters.
